2024 Annual Report spotlights record WIC enrollment, neighborhood cleanup efforts & more
We've published our 2024 Annual Report. This report, themed "Improving today for a healthier tomorrow," highlights some of our efforts to improve the health and well-being of Lorain County.
In 2024, Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) achieved record enrollment in the WIC program, reaching over 4,400 participants each month, providing essential nutrition education and support to families. To improve accessibility, we relocated the second WIC clinic to Amherst.
Also in 2024, we launched a new online vaccine scheduling system, making it easier for residents to book flu and COVID-19 shots. Our environmental health housing team addressed 591 public health nuisances, working to create cleaner and safer living environments.
The report also highlights LCPH's designation as the Lorain County Tuberculosis (TB) Control Unit, where our epidemiology team monitors and investigates all TB cases. We are also focused on building safer communities for the future, as demonstrated in the Countywide Safety Action Plan with the goal to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries.
These are just a few ways the LCPH team is working to improve the health of Lorain County. We invite you to read the full report to learn more about our programs, services, and financial stewardship.
