Screen your child for lead

Posted on: October 23, 2017

Lead is a metal found naturally in the environment, but some older buildings have dangerously high levels of lead inside them. High levels of lead can cause health problems, and it can be hard to tell if there’s lead in a home or if someone has lead poisoning. Lead poisoning can cause hyperactivity, slowed growth, learning problems, hearing problems, and more - especially in children.

The Lorain County General Health District offers lead screening to determine if your child has been exposed to lead. Partial funding provided by Erie County HUD Lead grant partnership.
