This is a grassroots community group who gets together weekly for an hour to enjoy Lake Erie by kayak, stand up paddle board or canoe. We are not affiliated with anyone or any group. Due to unpredictability of Lake Erie, it is suggested to follow https://www.facebook.com/lorainpaddle for weather updates. We launch from the beach before you get to Lake Erie Steak and Seafood House. Some weeks will will have a themed paddle for fun! Follow boating safety! Paddle at your own risk.

Walking With Sole is a free community social walking hour. Meet at pavilion one, the pavilion closest to the bathrooms. Every other week, local health professionals and community leaders will speak at the beginning of the event for 10 minutes in pavilion one. No membership or registration is required. All ages and abilities are invited to join. In case of inclement weather, walks will be canceled for the evening - check Heart & Sole’s Facebook page for cancellation.
Enjoy a leisurely, guided walk along the 1/4 mile, paved Black River Loop trail. Hiking Level 1. Group will meet at Shelter #4 at 8 a.m where FREE coffee will be provided. Shuttle rides will be available starting at 8 a.m. to take hikers with limited mobility to the Loop, from the Nature Center. Hike begins at 8:30 a.m. Program is not weather dependent. Benches are stationed along the trail.
Binoculars will be available to program participants. Registration not required.
Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation to improve health and happiness. Class is held at the United Way of Greater Lorain County office in the Ridge Tool Community Engagement Space. Class participants will be socially distanced within the provided space.
Celebrate your dog with a pack walk on a paved trail with other dogs and their people. Please bring your friendly dog on a leash to this walk. Meet in front of the Visitor Center. Preregister online by 8/25. Walk ins welcome. Level 1 Hike.
Tai Chi is a series of Qigong (Chi Gung) movements that are gentle, flowing, meditative and healing. It can be done sitting or standing by people of every age and physical condition. Join instructor Annamarie and enjoy Tai Chi on the patio/observation deck of the French Creek Nature Center (will meet indoors if weather is inclement). Preregister by the day of the program for one or more in a series each Saturday morning
This beginner yoga class focuses on instructing basic poses to aid in strength and flexibility, and also focuses on the breathing fundamentals to overall relaxation.

Interested in yoga for the opportunity to lengthen the body while incorporating breath and movement? Iron yoga incorporates the breathing and mind/body aspects of yoga with the addition of light dumbbells.
