The weather is getting warmer and summer is just around the corner. This time of year more bicyclists and pedestrians will be out. There are plenty of ways you can get involved, whether you are looking for walking opportunities, an avid cyclists or just “bike-curious”. Check out some of the great ways to choose your move this May:
National Bike to Work Week May 14th – 18th
Grab your bike and try something new this week. If you live 3 miles or less from your job, you could try biking in for some added exercise. If you live further than three miles, try driving to a nearby park or transit stop and biking the rest of the way. First time bicyclists are encouraged to ride with a friend!
Lorain City Schools Walk to School Day - May 18th
Students get the chance to jump-start their brains as they walk to school with classmates and teachers. Teams meet at designated pick-up locations around the city.
Lorain Better Block - May 19th
Lorain Better Block is a community celebration that will show how an ideal street block looks, sounds, and feels – it will make you want to come back for more! Everyone is invited to join in the fun on Saturday, May 19, 2018, noon to 8 p.m. between 5th and 8th streets along Broadway Ave. in Lorain. Witness the better block transformation.
New Lorain County Bike Map - out May 22nd
Grab the newest version of the Lorain County Bike Map Check at local bike shops, libraries, and city or village halls. Maps provided by the Northeast Ohio Area wide Coordinating Agency (NOACA).
