Lorain County’s Newest Vending Machine is Good for Our Health

Lorain County Public Health and Family Planning Services of Lorain County are excited to announce that Lorain County’s first Harm Reduction Vending Machine is now open at Family Planning Services in Elyria! This innovative, evidence-based strategy increases access to vital health resources by providing free and confidential supplies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What You'll Find:
This vending machine is stocked with a range of tailored supplies aimed at saving lives, preventing the spread of disease, and promoting overall well-being in our community. 

You can access the following items free of charge: 

  • Naloxone kits to reverse opioid overdoses
  • Fentanyl test strips to check for fentanyl
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Safe sex kits with condoms, dental dams, and lubricant – to prevent STIs
  • Sharps containers for safe disposal of used needles
  • First aid supplies 
  • Period products
  • Health information on local support services

Why This Matters:
By providing round-the-clock, confidential access to these resources, we hope people are empowered to make safer choices, reduce harm, and ultimately improve the health of our community.
