Just Released: 2019 Annual Report for Lorain County Public Health

Posted on:

Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) just released its 2019 Annual Report. Learn about the impact we made in 2019, as well as our approach to understanding community issues. Part of our approach includes making decisions based on trending data. Last year, we worked to continue the trends of:

  • Decreased tobacco use
  • Decreased infant mortality

We also worked to reverse the trend of:

  • Increased heart disease mortality for people ages 35-54

Other factors that help us understand community issues include strong partnerships, listening to resident experience, and analyzing the results of existing services. These strategies helped us drive action to:

  • Prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases by cleaning up tire dump sites
  • Promote families and local farmers through the WIC farm market voucher program
  • Protect the health of all people by taking special steps to reach out to vulnerable populations

Read the 2019 Annual Report or one of the Annual Reports from past years.
