You may be at risk for measles if you were born after 1957. Measles is a highly contagious disease that is rapidly increasing in cases in the U.S and globally. You can protect yourself and your family.

Do you have written proof of 2 doses of the MMR vaccine? Two doses of the MMR vaccine are needed for protection.

Did you receive a dose of a measles vaccine or 1 dose of the MMR vaccine between 1963 and 1989? If yes, see your health care provider or Lorain County Public Health to receive a dose of MMR vaccine. Call Lorain County Public Health at 440-284-3206 for an appointment or walk in Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening appointments available.

Are you unable to locate your vaccine record? Lorain County Public Health might be able to locate your vaccine record in the state vaccine registry. Call 440-284-3206 for assistance.

A blood test is available to determine if you are immune to measles. See your health care provider for a lab request for measles titer levels.
