5/8 -- Starting Monday, May 21, 2012 join Deb Lansman, AFAA Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor at Lorain County Community College, for a series of walks in Southern Lorain County.

The 2012 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization begins May 21st to promote seat belt use and help save lives by cracking down on those who don’t buckle up. Lorain County law enforcement has announced their involvement in this year’s campaign and will be working in collaboration with the Lorain County Safe Community Coalition to create a highly visible campaign.

4/13 -- The Lorain County Board of Mental Health is supporting an extraordinary opportunity for Ohio high schools to receive free access to a 1 hour practice-based online training simulation designed specifically for high school teachers and staff. Every teacher and every student in your school can benefit from this training which aims to increase staff ability to recognize when students may be experiencing psychological distress, manage conversations with them in order to better connect them with school support services. With a particular focus on communications skills, this training also supports school climate improvement as well as individual student achievement goals.
