
9/2 -- The Lorain County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) are holding their Annual Volunteer Training Day on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lorain County Community College's Spitzer Conference Center, with breakfast and registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. This year's event features award-winning speaker, Ana-Marie Jones from Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disasters (CARD) in California, who passionately advocates for ending the disaster victim cycle and promotes community resiliency without the use of fear or threat-based messages. Additionally, two breakout sessions will be held during the latter part of the event, giving attendees the opportunity to personalize their training day. Breakout topics include the following:
