2018 Teen Driver Safety Billboard Contest

Attention local high school students: enter contest, win prizes!

The Lorain County Safe Communities Coalition, through support from State Farm®, is challenging high school students to enter a billboard design contest to educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.

A panel of judges will choose a winning and first runner up billboard design based on creativity, originality, and how well the importance of not driving distracted is communicated.

Both winners will receive a monetary prize; see full prize details below.

The first place design will be featured on Lorain County billboards to remind thousands of drivers and passengers of the dangers of distracted driving during National Teen Driver Safety Week (October 21-27, 2018).

• Any high school student in Lorain County who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2018-2019 school year


First place winner:

  • Wining student will be awarded a $500 prize! If multiple students, prize will be equally divided.
  • $500 will be designated to the referring educator for classroom improvements
  • Student’s high school will be awarded the opportunity to have a distracted driving awareness event during the 2018-2019 school year, provided by Lorain County Safe Communities Coalition and State Farm®

Runner up winner:

  • Student will be awarded a $250 prize! If multiple students, prize will be equally divided.
