Walking is a great way for people of all activity levels to keep active to reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Keeping physically active also has a positive impact on mental health and work productivity. The Step it Up Challenge is a free, easy way to kick-start your worksite wellness programs, increase employee engagement, and win bragging rights over other Lorain County businesses and organizations.

During the Step it Up Challenge, participating worksites encourage employees to keep track of their physical activity and increase their daily step count throughout the month of September. Winners receive prizes in categories for:

  • Most steps walked
  • Most average steps for employees
  • Team Spirit.

The Step it Up Challenge tracks steps through Lorain County Walks, a free online platform that includes features like an activity translator, local walking maps, and challenge creator that works with ALL step-tracking devices.
