Final round of grant scholarships available to prevent diabetes

Posted on: May 3, 2018

Did you know that one out of every three adults in the U.S. has prediabetes? Prediabetes is when blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. People with prediabetes are at higher risk to develop full-blown diabetes later. People don’t have to wait for later to arrive—diabetes can be stopped before it begins.

Join the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program to learn how to eat healthy and get active. Discover more about this proven program to prevent diabetes at an information session near you:

In the Diabetes Prevention Program, a trained coach personalizes activities to help participants learn how to eat healthy and be more active. Up to 15 participants work together to lose a modest amount of weight and to live active and fulfilled.

The final round of generous grant scholarships are available now to cover costs, which includes a YMCA membership. Contact the YMCA at 440-574-0580 or healthyliving@clevelandY.org. Visit ClevelandYMCA.org/Diabetes-Prevention.html for more information.
