Connect with an older adult in your community to help improve their quality of life-- Volunteer with the Buddy Connect program! Volunteers will receive training, a background check, and a gas card to reimburse mileage for home visits.
Social connectedness is strongly linked to a person's overall health, and as people age they sometimes have less interaction with other people and their community. To better connect older adults to the community, Lorain County Public Health and the Lorain County Board of Mental Health are hosting the Buddy Connect program. This no-cost program pairs volunteers with people age 55+ who live in Lorain County. Volunteers will make two phone calls per month to their buddy, and once a month home visits are also available if the buddy participant requests.
Call (440) 567-4120 to sign up as a volunteer.
The Buddy Connect program is coordinated by the Lorain County Public Health and funded by the Lorain County Board of Mental Health.
