Chalk the Walk for overdose awareness

Join Lorain County Public Health and local agencies in a "Chalk the Walk" event on Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Ely Square in Elyria for overdose awareness. All ages and skill levels welcome - no cost to attend or participate. Go to bit.ly/ChalkTheWalk2022 to register by Aug. 19 to reserve your spot, or show up the day of.


  • 9 a.m: Chalk the Walk and Elyria Farmers Market begin
  • 10 a.m. - 2 p.m: Free face painting
  • 12 p.m. - 1 p.m: Hear local recovery stories
  • 1 p.m: Elyria Farmers Market ends

All day (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.):

  • Free chalk to anyone who wants to participate (while supplies last)
  • Food trucks
  • Music
  • Artist chalk displays
  • Free Narcan
  • Free overdose awareness bracelets
  • Free parking behind City Hall and Washington Ave.
