Submit a drink to the 2021 Zero Proof Mix Off

Posted on:

What: At the 20th annual Zero Proof Mix Off – a public, no-cost event – attendees will sample zero-proof concoctions and take home a recipe book to mix up sober options during the holiday party season. The event’s purpose is to increase awareness of sober driving and zero-proof holiday drink options. It’s hosted by the Lorain County Safe Communities Coalition, conducted through Lorain County Public Health (LCPH). The event provides a unique and effective opportunity to connect with potential clients and customers while supporting safe driving behaviors. After the Zero Proof Mix Off, all drink recipes from participating groups will be featured in a Party Drinks for Designated Drivers Recipe Book that shoppers can pick up at no cost from local Discount Drug Mart locations.

As of Oct 1, 2021, coordinators are planning that the Zero Proof Mix Off will be in-person on Thursday, Dec 2, 2021 at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) Spitzer Conference Center, 189 Innovation Dr. in Elyria. However, this event may transition to be virtual. We are asking in the application how agencies would like to proceed as we begin planning. Regardless there will be an opportunity for up to ten mixers to participate!

Mixers may set up as early as 3 p.m. and judging begins at 5 p.m. The public arrives at 5:30 and the event ends at 7:30 p.m. LCPH encourages all participants who choose to attend in-person and the general public to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. At this time, LCCC requires masks be worn at all times when on campus.
