Lorain County Public Health focuses on the full picture of health at the Lorain County Fair

Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) will continue to protect the health of people at the 2022 Lorain County Fair. LCPH supplies hand sanitizer across the fairgrounds to prevent the spread of disease. LCPH also conducts food safety checks and education with food vendors.

Visit LCPH’s tent behind building 17 at the Lorain County Fair. LCPH staff will greet fairgoers and answer public health questions. Participate in “Walk for Water,” LCPH’s mini walking challenge that rewards walkers with an ice-cold bottle of water. View LCPH’s display focused on the full picture of health - highlighting safe transportation, clean and safe water, healthy moms and babies as well as LCPH’s shadowing, internships, job and volunteer opportunities in Lorain County.

“Whether you’re at the fair, commuting to work or expecting a baby, your health and safety are our priorities,” says LCPH Commissioner Mark Adams, MPH, REHS. “Every day, we work to protect your well-being, prevent diseases and promote overall health.” To achieve these goals, LCPH provides COVID-19 vaccines as well as other recommended vaccines to prevent disease. They inspect every place in Lorain County that sells food, such as restaurants and grocery stores. They act as consultants and educators for homeowners that have household sewage systems (septic systems). LCPH also runs programs to encourage wearing a seat belt when traveling on the roads, driving sober and preventing motor vehicle fatalities.

The 176th Lorain County Fair occurs Aug. 21 through Aug. 28 at 23000 Fairgrounds Road, Wellington, OH 44090.
