Enjoy autumn - reduce the risk of falls.

  • Make sure Halloween decorations are neatly and securely hung, so they don’t create a tripping hazard.
  • Dry off wet shoes when you come in from the fall rain wet shoes are just as slippery as wet floors.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring a cane or other device to help you if you’re enjoying an autumn activity where there’s uneven ground (like apple picking).
  • Avoid walking though leaves, and keep outdoor walkways clear. Fallen leaves can be slippery, and they can hide uneven walkways.
