Lorain County Public Health works to make Lorain County roads safe for all users. Whether you are bussing, bicycling, walking, or driving, we want to make sure you are safe. One way we are working to do this is through community collaboration and partnerships.
Safe Community Coalition
The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety (OTSO) awarded $85,000 in federal traffic safety funding to Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) for federal fiscal year 2019.
With a mission aligned to the grant’s focus, for over 25 years the Lorain County Safe Community Coalition has worked to reduce injuries and deaths on Lorain County roads through its members from businesses, law enforcement, the OVI Taskforce, healthcare, and residents. Also conducted through the Coalition is the Lorain County Fatality Review Committee that meets quarterly to review vehicle crashes in which people died, and to identify trends and possible interventions to prevent future crashes.
