Submit a drink to the 2019 Zero Proof Mix Off
What: At the 18th annual Zero Proof Mix Off – a public, no-cost event – attendees sample zero-proof concoctions while increasing their awareness of sober driving and zero-proof drink options. Businesses, agencies, bartenders, student clubs and other groups that want to enter a drink into this competition may apply on this Google Form. Then, create and serve a zero-proof drink.
Deadline: Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019. The Lorain County Safe Communities Coalition will accept 22 applications.
Prizes will be awarded for:

- Best Student Drink
- Best Presentation
- People's Choice
- Overall Winner
Nearly 500 people typically attend the Zero Proof Mix Off every year. The event provides a unique and effective opportunity to connect with potential clients and customers while supporting safe driving behaviors.
This year, the Zero Proof Mix Off is on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 at Lorain County Community College Spitzer Conference Center, 189 Innovation Dr. in Elyria. Mixers may set up as early as 3:30 p.m. and judging begins at 5 p.m. The public arrives at 5:30 and the event lasts until 7:30 p.m.
The Lorain County Safe Communities Coalition, conducted through Lorain County Public Health, hosts this event to increase awareness of sober driving and zero-proof holiday drink options. After the Zero Proof Mix Off, all drink recipes from participating groups will be featured in a recipe book that shoppers can pick up at no cost from local Discount Drug Mart locations.
