Urgent Public Notice: NEBRASKA FIRM EXPANDS RECALL OF BEEF PRODUCTS
7/3 - WASHINGTON,– Nebraska Beef, Ltd., an Omaha, Neb., establishment is expanding its June 30 recall to include all beef manufacturing trimmings and other products intended for use in raw ground beef produced between May 16 and June 26, totaling approximately 5.3 million pounds, that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

LORAIN COUNTY MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS

7/3 - Volunteer opportunities have increased in Lorain County, and the Lorain County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is here to coordinate these efforts. The Lorain County MRC was created in March 2008 to enhance response efforts during times of emergency and non-emergency. The Lorain County MRC is state and nationally recognized, which allows for enhanced training opportunities and liability coverage for registered volunteers. The Lorain County MRC is currently enrolling volunteers in the program. Medical professionals, as well as non-medical volunteers, are encouraged to join. TUNE-UP YOUR DRIVING SKILLS AT AN UPCOMING SENIOR DRIVER SEMINAR
7/3 - Tune-up your driving skills at a Senior Driver Seminar, offered by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, AAA East Central/Ohio Region, and the Lorain County Safe Community Coalition. The presentation will help drivers update their skills, and learn how to handle emergencies and inclement weather. During the 90-minute seminar, experts will also share tips on how to drive better, longer, and safer in Lorain County. The no-cost seminar is designed for drivers 55 years of age and older. Space is limited, so be sure to register.
