Wondering what to do with the unused prescription pills in your medicine cabinet? Get rid of them safely between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 – Prescription Turn In Day.

On Prescription Turn In Day, locations throughout Lorain County work with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office to collect unused prescription pills. The locations offer a safe way to get rid of expired or unneeded medication. Properly disposing of medications keeps pills from getting into the water supply or into the hands of children and other unintended users.

New this year, experts on drug addiction will be at many of the locations to offer information or counseling if requested. No personal information is required to participate in the prescription drug turn in, and all medications are kept by law enforcement officers until they are discarded.
